so i didn’t get cut up into pieces today…

Which is really awesome, because I like my body intact.

I finally got to meet a fellow blogger today, one that I have come to know and cherish (it didn’t hurt that we live only 2 hours apart) as a dear, dear friend. Okay, so I was a tiny bit nervous that this dude was going to hide me in his trunk and cut me up with a chainsaw (or maybe he thought I would be the murderer … I am pretty intimidating in my 5’2 package). Either way, it turned out to be a wonderful day. He made me forget, for a few hours, all of the shit inside of my head. I don’t think I have smiled so much in a very long time. I had no idea that through blogging, I was going to get to find people that not only accepted me, but understood me. There aren’t any words to describe that feeling.

It was a beautiful time-out, and the only physical damage was the walking-trail-bark turning my feet black.

Thank you, Alex.

  1. I’ve often thought how nice it would be to meet some of the people that read my blog and who’s blogs I read in return. You have all been there for me when I was going through the hell that was my life last year, when my friends here at home ignored me. That means something.

I’m glad you got to spend a good day with someone. 🙂

  2. I had a similar experience recently. I described it as being surreal because these people had been privy to snapshots of my soul and I’d seen quite a few of theirs to, so they probably had a better (or at least unique) understanding of me than just about anyone else I’d ever met and it was only the first time I’d met them face to face. Kind of crazy how that works, really. Glad it worked out well for you 😉 .

  3. Yay for not being an ax murderer! I was worried I was going to be thrown in a ditch and left for dead. She is much more intimidating in person 🙂 I have to say Ditto to everything though of course!

  4. That’s so awesome that you two met! Blogging is an awesome way to meet kindred spirits. Of course, I had no idea about that when I first signed up. It was an unexpected bonus.

  5. I wonder how many other bloggers you might’ve met in the real world without even knowing it, by just passing them by in the street or something? Congrats that you met up!!! 🙂

  6. i have a similar experience of meeting a fellow blogger and now we are inseparable…reading this made me smile. very happy for you and glad you are feeling better and still in one piece!
